Neurotoxin FAQs
Both are FDA-approved neurotoxins that relax the muscles responsible for expression lines — but they differ mainly in how long they last. Botox® typically lasts 3–4 months, while Daxxify® is formulated with a peptide that helps it bind more strongly to nerve receptors, giving most patients results that lasts a little longer.
The most common treatment areas include forehead lines, frown lines between the brows (the "11s"), and crow's feet around the eyes. We also treat the brow area for a subtle lift, the lip line for a lip flip, the chin for dimpling, the neck bands (platysmal bands), and the jaw muscles for slimming or TMJ relief. During your consultation, we'll identify which areas make the most sense for your goals.
You'll typically start noticing results within 3–5 days, with full effects visible around 10–14 days after treatment. Botox® results generally last 3–4 months. Daxxify® results last up to 6 months for some patients. Results vary depending on the treatment area, your metabolism, and how expressive your facial movements are.
There's essentially no downtime. Treatments take 15–30 minutes and you can return to your normal activities right away. You may notice small red dots or slight swelling at the injection sites, but these typically resolve within a few hours. We recommend avoiding intense exercise, lying flat, or rubbing the treated area for the rest of the day.
Most healthy adults are good candidates. Neurotoxins work best for dynamic wrinkles — lines caused by repeated muscle movement, like smiling or squinting. They're less effective for deep static wrinkles at rest, which may be better addressed with dermal fillers.
